Comic Notes
Character in the Comic: Maine and Massachusetts

- as state in the last comic, I just like having Maine being creepy and spooky and she loves Halloween. I could totally lie and say this is because so much of Northern Maine is wild forest and who knows what all is up there. Bigfoot? Goblins? Lots of Trees? Who knows! But I found out about the Northern Maine woods after she was creepy. I made her creepy because of Stephen King and all the creepy Maine towns in his books. 

- She is bugging Mass because Maine used to belong to Mass. The last comment about Mass “abandoning her” is related to the ware of 1812. During that war, Maine was still under Massachusetts’s control and Mass really didn’t do anything particular much when Maine got invaded by the British.

-  Catherine is a fairy straight up Lady in White story. She’s described as original and horrifying in the account I linked, but she sounds like the accounts of ghostly ladies in many areas, hence Mass’s comment back. 

- On the more unique side though, yes, Maine does have a Ghost Moose. I feel strongly there is a Supernatural joke here. 

-  For Knox Maine. It makes a fair few “most haunted lists”
